Decluttering for Fall: Organize and Refresh Your Home

Start your closet clean-out by sorting through your summer wardrobe and setting aside items you didn’t wear for donation or sale. Pack away the rest of your summer clothes, swimsuits, and sandals in storage bins or vacuum-sealed bags to make room for fall and winter attire. Next, rotate in your fall essentials like sweaters, scarves, and boots, organizing them by color, type, or how often you wear them to simplify your routine. Lastly, assess your accessories—go through bags, belts, and shoes, keeping only the pieces you love and frequently use, while discarding anything worn out or unused over the past year.
Start your pantry and kitchen declutter by clearing out any expired or stale food, then reorganize the shelves by grouping similar items like canned goods, spices, snacks, and baking supplies together. Make room for fall foods by stocking up on seasonal essentials such as canned pumpkin, spices, and baking ingredients, and take this opportunity to clean and reorganize your kitchen for easier meal prep. Lastly, tidy your fridge by discarding old leftovers and expired condiments, wiping down the shelves, and designating specific areas for snacks, meal prep, and leftovers.
